The firefighters managed to extinguish the fire less than an hour after being alerted, according to Xinhua.
Tragically, fatal fires are not uncommon in China, often attributed to the lenient enforcement of building and safety standards.
In a similar incident in November, 26 lives were lost in a massive fire that engulfed an office building in Luliang City, Shanxi province.
Another heartbreaking incident unfolded in April when a hospital fire in Beijing claimed the lives of at least 29 people, primarily patients.
This incident prompted a thorough investigation, leading to the detention of 12 individuals by the police for questioning.
The distressing footage of the fire depicted people resorting to climbing out of windows onto air conditioning units to escape the engulfing flames.
