According to the police, the two were arrested around 12:15 am in a police vehicle, Toyota Land Cruiser transporting 82 crates of uncustomed assorted beer brands.
The police said members of the public alerted the Migori DCI officers who ambushed the police vehicle.
They intercepted the vehicle and found the officers attached to the Transmara camp and Lichota camp respectively.
They were armed with a pistol.
The police impounded different beer brands including Kilimanjaro, Premium Lager, Serengeti Premium Lager, Balima Extra
Lager, and Pilsner Larger from Tanzania.
The two were arrested and the vehicle they were using was detained.
Investigations are ongoing.
