Four suspected thugs were killed in two separate incidents in the crime wave in Nairobi and Kikuyu area.

Police said the first incident happened in Thogotho area, Kikuyu where two suspects who were riding on a motorbike were felled by police bullets after a botched robbery.

Police said the two had robbed pedestrians in the town and were escaping when they were confronted on Monday morning.

Part of the property they had reportedly stolen from the victims were recovered, police said.

In the city centre, along Moi Avenue, two suspected thieves were stoned to death before being set a blaze in a botched robbery.

The two were part of a gang that had been attacking and robbing pedestrians on Saturday night when they were confronted by a mob.

Police term mob lynching criminal and want those arrested be surrendered to authorities for processing.

According to police and witnesses, a pedestrian was confronted and mugged near Nairobi Sports House and robbed of his mobile phones and Sh5,000.

The victim was an electrician and was headed to his Juja Road home when he was attacked by four men.

He raised the alarm and alerted other pedestrians who responded and stoned two of the suspects to death and later set them on fire.

Police arrived at the scene and moved the bodies to the mortuary.
