Four Thugs Gang Rape And Rob Woman In Attack In Kenol, Murangá


Police are hunting down a gang of five that attacked and gang raped a woman in the Kenol area, Murangá County.

The woman told police she was in the company of her boyfriend and were headed for Kenol Township when they were stopped by five men who were armed with crude weapons.

The incident happened on June 13 in the morning.

The gang then ordered her boyfriend to sit down and was left with one suspect while the other four took her to an unfinished building near there where the gang raped her in turns.

She said she was robbed of her mobile phone while her boyfriend was robbed of a mobile phone and Sh200.

The woman was taken to Maragua level five hospital for treatment.

The motive of the incident is yet to be known.

No arrest has been made so far. Cases of rape have been on the rise amid campaigns to address them.

Rape cases stood at 827 in 2022, 1,013 in 2021, 973 in 2020, 950 in 2019, and 921 in 2018.

Major campaigns against the vice are ongoing.
