Three Suspected Armed Robbers Killed In Kisii: Police Recover AK-47 Rifle

In a recent incident that took place across two counties, Migori and Kisii, three suspected armed robbers lost their lives, and the police managed to seize an AK-47 rifle.

According to a report from the DCI (Directorate of Criminal Investigations) shared on social media, detectives from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau took action upon receiving information about a planned robbery in Kisii.

“Armed with the loaded AK 47, a Rambo sword and a machete, the gang had boarded a TVS motorcycle believed to be their transport means to targeted spots and to get away, oblivious of the ultimate justice that heeled close by,” the DCI said.

After trailing the suspects for a distance of over 60 kilometers, the detectives caught up with them in Kisii’s Corner Mbaya area.

They promptly ordered the suspects to stop, but the robbers refused to comply.

“Having defied orders to surrender, the officers who have been deployed on a hell-bent mission to sanitize the streets of guns in the wrong hands opened fire, fatally injuring the three,” the detectives said.

During the confrontation, the police discovered an AK-47 rifle, a magazine loaded with 21 bullets, a Rambo-style dagger, a machete, and a TVS motorcycle bearing the registration number KMGH 656X.

One of the suspects was identified as 27-year-old Joseph Mwita from Kuria in Migori.

The other two individuals, who are in their 30s, remain unidentified, and their bodies are currently at the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.
