Gunman At Large After Double Shooting In Sion, Switzerland


A search is underway in Switzerland following a tragic incident in the southern town of Sion, where two individuals were fatally shot and another person injured.

According to Valois regional police, the assailant discharged multiple gunshots shortly before 08:00 on Monday.

The shootings occurred at two different locations within the town.

Authorities have identified the suspect as Robin Sebastien and caution that he is considered dangerous; the public is advised not to approach him.

Police revealed, “Based on preliminary investigations, the perpetrator was acquainted with the victims,” emphasizing that the motives behind the incident remain unclear.

The gunfire reportedly erupted at the Sarsa painting company in the Ronquoz and Potences areas, as reported by local newspaper Le Nouvelliste.

The 36-year-old suspect, last seen driving a grey Peugeot 206 Cabriolet, is currently at large.

To prevent his escape from the country, law enforcement has established roadblocks around Valois.

Sion, situated near the Italian border, is witnessing a heightened police presence, with armed officers deployed to the crime scenes.

Local prosecutors have initiated a murder investigation into the incident.
