Nandi County Governor Stephen Sang has terminated the employment of approximately 1,800 workers who were hired across various sectors since 2013.
This decision, announced to reporters on Monday, follows recommendations from a recent human resource audit report conducted in the county.
Governor Sang emphasized his commitment to fully implement the report’s recommendations, stating that this action aims to address ongoing issues within the county effectively.
He encouraged the affected employees to voice their concerns by contacting the Public Service Commission, the Nandi County Public Service Board, or pursuing legal action.
This statement comes in response to claims from some dismissed workers, who allege they possess evidence of financial transactions related to job placements in different county departments.
Governor Sang assured that he would collaborate with relevant government agencies to investigate and hold accountable any county officials implicated in bribery for job opportunities, ensuring justice is served.
He also issued a stern warning to anyone planning to disrupt county operations, asserting that they would face legal consequences if they did not follow proper procedures to express their grievances.
