Police in Kiambu County launched investigations into the murder of a 45-year-old man whose body was discovered lying by the roadside in Ting’ang’a.
According to police, a local resident alerted authorities after receiving information from members of the public that his brother, identified as Joseph Kimani, had been found lying motionless along a road in Kwa Mugunda village on Wednesday.
Preliminary observations revealed that the body had multiple visible injuries, including wounds on the ribs and back, as well as a deep cut on the left index finger.
Investigators believe the injuries may have been inflicted during an altercation with a known individual following a quarrel reported the previous day.
The body was moved to Kiambu Level 5 Hospital Mortuary, where it is awaiting a postmortem examination.
Police have since launched a manhunt for the suspect as detectives work to establish the circumstances leading to the fatal attack.
The incident has heightened concerns over rising cases of violent disputes in local communities, with authorities urging residents to resolve conflicts amicably and report threats before they escalate.
And two brothers are recovering from gunshot injuries following a violent attack by suspected armed assailants in Loiyangalani, Marsabit County.
Police said the incident occurred on March 25, 2026 within the Kaben area.
Police officers escorting Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) staff and manning designated viewpoints reported hearing gunshots near the control tower area.
Police responded there and found two men lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds.
The officers rescued the victims and rushed them to Loiyangalani Mission Hospital, where they received emergency treatment.
Preliminary findings indicate that the two were attacked by approximately eight armed assailants suspected to be from a rival community.
Medical assessments revealed that one of them sustained a gunshot wound to the left ribcage, with the bullet exiting through the right side of the chest above the diaphragm.
His brother, suffered a gunshot wound to the right shoulder, with entry and exit wounds at the back, as well as two additional bullet wounds to the left thigh, with one projectile believed to be lodged in the leg.
The victims are currently in stable condition and are awaiting transfer to Marsabit Referral Hospital for specialized treatment.
Security agencies have launched investigations into the attack, amid concerns over recurring insecurity and inter-community tensions in parts of Marsabit County.
