Man Found Dead in Suspected Murder in Transmara, Narok County


Police are investigating murder following the discovery of a man’s body in Transmara East Sub-County, Narok County.

The incident was reported on Friday, April 24, 2026,  after members of the public spotted a lifeless body lying in Cheboney Village earlier that morning.

Police responded to the scene and identified the deceased as 38-year-old Albert Rotich Kipkorir.

Police said the body was found lying face down. Upon turning it over, officers observed blood oozing from the mouth and nose, while the face appeared swollen.

The deceased was dressed in a torn red T-shirt and had no shoes.

Preliminary findings suggest the victim may have been killed elsewhere and the body dumped at the scene.

The area was secured and processed by investigators before the body was moved to Kapkatet Sub-County Hospital Mortuary, where it is awaiting a postmortem examination to establish the cause of death.

Police said investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and to identify those responsible.

Elsewhere, police in Kisumu County launched investigations after the body of a man was discovered along the Kisumu–Busia road early Friday morning.

The incident was reported by a passerby who noticed the body lying on a pedestrian pathway opposite the Aga Khan Hospital Kisumu.

Police visited the scene and established that the body of a middle-aged man was lying in a drainage trench.

The deceased, believed to be a street dweller had reportedly been noticed earlier by fellow street youths who attempted to rescue him but found him unresponsive.

Police said the body had no visible injuries at the time it was discovered.

Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) officers processed and documented the scene before the body was moved to Kisumu County Referral Hospital Mortuary, where it is awaiting a postmortem examination.

Authorities said investigations are ongoing to establish the cause of death.
