China Road & Bridge Corporation Awarded Contract for Tatu City’s Jabali Towers

Construction of Jabali Towers at Tatu City is set to begin after China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) was selected as the lead contractor for the 88,000-square-metre mixed-use development located within the private special economic zone on the outskirts of Nairobi.

The first phase, Tower A, is already 75% sold and will feature two residential towers rising 25 and 36 floors, a 150-room hotel, Grade A office space, and 35 retail and dining outlets.

The residential units, which range from studio apartments to three-bedroom homes, are priced from KSh9.7 million and are targeting both owner-occupiers and property investors.

The appointment further strengthens CRBC’s presence in Kenya, where the company is already delivering several flagship infrastructure projects, including the Talanta Sports Stadium.

“We go to great lengths to source partners and suppliers locally and from around the world who share our uncompromising standards of execution. Jabali Towers is another step in building a city that delivers lasting value for Kenya and for generations to come,” said Stephen Jennings, Founder and CEO of Rendeavour, the owner and developer of Tatu City.

According to the developer, Jabali Towers ranks among the largest high-rise developments within Tatu City and is expected to create more than 2,000 jobs during both the construction phase and once the project becomes operational. Employment opportunities will span hospitality, office management, retail, food and beverage, and property management.

The development will utilise infrastructure that Tatu City has invested in over the past 15 years, including road networks, water supply, electricity, and fibre-optic internet connectivity.

Jabali Towers is part of Tatu City’s wider growth strategy, which includes the addition of new residential neighbourhoods, commercial spaces, and educational institutions. Upcoming projects include Wellington College International Kenya, expected to open in 2028, and the Tatu Wildlife Sanctuary, which is due to launch later this year.

Over the years, Tatu City has grown into one of Kenya’s largest privately developed urban centres. The developer says the city is home to more than 7,000 residents, accommodates over 110 businesses, and has approximately 3,500 completed or ongoing housing units, with a daytime population of more than 35,000 people.
