

The is an alarm after a gang raided a construction site in Athi River, Machakos County, and stole an assortment of explosive quarry materials.
An unknown number of thieves went to Mugoya Construction Quarry in the area and broke into a trailer that contained the materials, police said.
The incident happened Tuesday afternoon and was discovered several hours later.
Police said the gang picked 166 bags of 25 kilos of low-density ammonia nitrate.
The motive for the move by the said thieves is yet to be known but police are investigating.
Police said the incident was aided by insiders.
Such materials can be used to assemble a deadly explosive if not handled properly.
Many companies engaged in quarry activities are permitted to import explosive materials for their work.
