Nairobi County Assembly Friday rejected four nominees shortlisted for the chief officer positions. The nominees had been vetted by various county assembly committees on Thursday but were found to be unfit to hold the offices they were nominated. The County Assembly of Nairobi Friday told Governor Johnson Sakaja to lift the order on the closure of nightclubs issued on November 25. There was a somber mood when a police officer died by suicide behind their residence at Kenya Airports Police Unit in Malindi, Kilifi County. The body of constable David Mugiri who went missing Thursday night was Friday found with a bullet wound in the head. The bullet went through the jaw and exited in the head, police said. Police are holding three suspects after they recovered two rifles and assorted goods in an operation at Kipkenyo Area within Kapseret Sub County. Officers from Simat Police Station Thursday staged the operation following a tip-off from locals.
