Police in Lari, Kiambu County, launched investigations after the body of an unidentified man was discovered in Upland Forest with multiple injuries and his mouth and nose sealed with blue masking tape.
The body was discovered on October 26, 2026, after herders reportedly spotted it inside the forest and alerted authorities.
Police officers who responded to the scene found the man’s body bearing several physical injuries on his hands, head and back.
The deceased’s head had been wrapped in blue masking tape, which completely covered his mouth and nose.
Preliminary assessments raised suspicions that the man may have been killed elsewhere before his body was dumped in the forest.
Scenes of Crime officers processed the scene before the body was moved to the City Mortuary, where it was preserved pending identification and a postmortem examination.
Police investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the suspected murder and identify the deceased.
Meanwhile, police in Imenti Central, Meru County, launched investigations into the murder of a 30-year-old man who was found lying in a pool of blood outside his home in Rwand eri Sub-location.
The deceased, identified as Morris Kiambu, was discovered on October 26, 2026, along a tarmac road outside Gakungugu Coffee Factory in Kirigara Location.
An examination of the body revealed deep stab wounds on the back and around the right knee, believed to have been inflicted using a sharp object.
Preliminary inquiries indicated that the victim’s sister was at home at around 6 pm when she heard screams coming from the road.
She reportedly rushed outside to establish what was happening and found her brother bleeding profusely after he had allegedly been attacked by an unknown assailant who fled the scene.
The motive for the killing remains unknown, and no suspect had been identified at the time of reporting.
Police documented and photographed the scene before moving the body to Kanyakine Sub-County Hospital mortuary, where it was preserved pending a postmortem examination to establish the cause of death.
Investigations into the murder are ongoing.
