A boda boda rider was hacked to death before being robbed of his motorcycle in an attack in Lodwar, Turkana County.
Police said Samuel Lootin had been called on his mobile phone by a client who asked to be picked in Kwalase area.
After picking the said client, he turned out to be a robber and assaulted him using a panga in the head, cheek and back.
He fatally injured him before escaping with the motorcycle to unknown destination.
Locals responded to the scene and picked the victim to a local hospital where he was confirmed dead on arrival.
Police said no arrest has been made in connection with the May 7 incident.
A hunt for the assailant in the robbery and murder incident is ongoing, police said.
The body was moved to Lodwar County Referral Hospital mortuary pending an autopsy.
In Karaba area, Embu County, six men killed a man they accused of being a thief.
The men are said to have picked the victim from his house in Nganga village before beating him to death on the claim that he is a thief in the area.
He was taken to Kerugoya hospital, where he succumbed to the injuries.
Police said they are looking for the suspects behind the incident.
Cases of mob injustice have been on the rise amid calls to stop the trend.
In Koderabara area, Rongo, Migori County, two people were attacked and seriously wounded in a robbery incident.
The victims were robbed of Sh30,000 in the attack, police said.
Police said one of the victims had a deep cut on the head, an injury to the spinal cord, and a deep cut on the shoulder and was referred to Kisii General Hospital in critical condition.
A second victim, who is a woman had a deep cut on the back, a wound on the forehead, and bruises on both hands. She was rushed to Rongo sub-county hospital, where she was admitted in stable condition.
No arrest has been made so far but a hunt on the attackers is ongoing, police said of the May 7 night incident.
