A merry-making session between a man and a woman turned tragic after they died on Tuesday night after a car they were in plunged into a dam at Titanic Area in Juja, Kiambu County.
Locals said two were making merry in the car that was parked a few meters from the dam and at around 7.30 pm before they heard people screaming for help.
A witness said a woman was screaming and trying to save herself but unfortunately there were no divers around.
“After the car plunged into the dam the woman managed to get out of the vehicle through the windows,” the witness said.
Police said at the banks of the dam, bottles of alcohol were seen scattered all over a clear indication that people often party in the area.
The body of the woman was retrieved Tuesday night while that of the man who was found naked was retrieved Wednesday morning and taken to General Kago morgue in Thika.
The Nissan X-trail car they were in was retrieved from the dam.
