DCI Announces Cash Reward For Information Leading To Re-Arrest Of Kware Murder Suspect Collins Jumaisi

For the past two months, Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, the prime suspect in the Kware massacre that resulted in the deaths of 42 women, has been evading authorities after escaping from Gigiri Police Station.

Jumaisi, along with 12 other detainees, made his escape on August 20, 2024, by cutting through the wire mesh at the facility’s basking bay.

Despite 69 days passing since the breakout, he remains at large.

In an effort to locate him, law enforcement agencies are intensifying their search, offering cash rewards to those who can provide leads for Jumaisi’s capture.

However, the exact amount of the reward has not been disclosed.

On Monday, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) urged the public to assist by reporting any information anonymously through their hotline.

“If you have details about Collins Jumaisi Khalusha’s location, please share it confidentially via the #FichuaKwaDCI hotline at 0800722203, or contact the police at hotlines 999, 911, and 112,” the DCI stated in a post.

The statement further encouraged citizens to visit any police station in the country to report useful information, emphasizing that every tip could significantly aid in the suspect’s re-arrest.

Jumaisi had previously confessed to the murders of the 42 women, including his wife, following the grim discovery of their bodies at the Kware dumpsite in early August.

After his initial arrest, his lawyer, John Maina Ndegwa, alleged that Jumaisi had been tortured into making a false confession a claim that DCI detectives have denied.

“My client has endured severe mistreatment to extract confessions regarding matters that are not true.

I request that the court mandate urgent medical attention as investigations proceed,” Ndegwa asserted.
