A suspect escaped after hitting a police officer using a stone during a failed arrest in Msongoleni village, Malindi, Kilifi County.
Police said three police officers from Kizingo police station had gone to the village to arrest a suspect for allegedly threatening to kill when he turned violent.
He picked up a stone and hit one the officers seriously injuring him in the head.
Police said the officer sustained a serious injury on his left side of his head.
The suspect managed to escape the scene in the Wednesday afternoon drama.
The injured officer was rushed to a hospital in Malindi where he was treated and discharged.
The hunt on the suspect is ongoing, police said.
Elsewhere, two police officers were rushed to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon after a suspect they were arrested turned violent and bite them in a village in Bungoma County.
Three police officers from Namwela police post in Sirisia had gone to effect an arrest of a suspect wanted for malicious damage when two of them were attacked by the suspect.
Police the incident happened in Stabicha village. Witnesses and police said the suspect turned violent and bite the two officers in the shoulders and hands respectively leaving them with wounds.
They were both taken to Kaptenai Dispensary before being referred to Sirisia Sub-County hospital for further attention.
The other police officer who escaped unhurt managed to detain the suspect, police said.
