In a heartbreaking incident, a 36-year-old man named Douglas Tendwa has been detained by the police for the alleged fatal beating of his 13-year-old son, Shadrach Luseno.
The unfortunate event unfolded when Luseno reportedly stole two chickens and went missing from home for four days.
The distressing incident occurred on November 26 around 5 PM, and according to the village chief’s report, Tendwa used a wooden cane to discipline his son.
Regrettably, Luseno lost consciousness after the beating and was urgently taken to Shieywe Private Hospital in Khayega.
Tragically, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Subsequent investigations by both the police officers and mortuary attendants revealed multiple visible injuries and blood stains on Luseno’s body.
The lifeless body has been moved to Mukumu Mission Hospital Mortuary, awaiting a postmortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
Douglas Tendwa, now in police custody, is set to face charges in court for the alleged crime.
The local authorities are working to bring justice to this devastating incident that has left a community in shock and mourning.
