Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his wife, Pastor Dorcas Gachagua, have shared their reflections following Professor Kithure Kindiki’s recent swearing-in as Deputy President.
In a moving statement released on November 1, Gachagua expressed deep appreciation for his family, referring to them as a cherished gift from God.
Accompanying his words was a family photo taken at their home, highlighting the joy he finds in spending time with loved ones.
Gachagua described the calming influence of nature, saying that “the scent of fresh grass and the melodies of singing birds” foster a joyful family environment.
He expressed his happiness at returning to his childhood home, where he can take in the breathtaking views of Mt. Kenya.
In his message, he emphasized his heartfelt gratitude for the love and support from his family, stating:
“Home Sweet Home!
I thank God for the gift of family.
The fragrance of fresh grass and the sound of chirping birds are essential for a joyful home.
I am eternally grateful for my loving and supportive family. We are delighted to be back in the place where I grew up!
I eagerly anticipate my morning walks in Hombe Forest, enjoying the beautiful vistas of Mt. Kenya while giving thanks for God’s kindness.
God Bless Kenya,” Gachagua shared.
Pastor Dorcas Gachagua also contributed her thoughts, underscoring the significance of gratitude during difficult times. She wrote:
“We give God all the glory. It’s all too easy to become overwhelmed by challenges and overlook the core tenet of faith.
Today, my family and I are choosing to express our gratitude, acknowledging God’s sovereignty, regardless of the trials we face.
We celebrate His unwavering faithfulness and mercy, referring to Him as Ebenezer for bringing us this far.
As Job declared, ‘Though he slay me, yet will I hope in Him.’
We truly appreciate your love and prayers. May God bless you all.”
