

Alex Okosi, who is currently the Managing Director for YouTube in EMEA Emerging Markets, has taken on a new role as the Managing Director for Google in Africa.
Now, Alex Okosi will oversee Google’s operations in Africa.
This includes programs aimed at helping businesses and economies in Africa to grow.
He will also work on expanding access to the internet and providing tools to help more people in Africa make the most of the web.
Meir Brand, the Vice President of EMEA Emerging Markets at Google, spoke highly of Alex’s abilities, saying, “Alex is a proven leader with a wealth of experience in the media and technology industries.
He has a deep understanding of African countries and a passion for using technology to empower people and businesses.”
Before joining YouTube, Alex Okosi held important positions at Viacom International Media Networks Africa and BET International.
At YouTube, he played a crucial role in making the platform more popular across Africa, the Middle East, and Turkey.
Alex Okosi expressed his excitement about his new role, saying, “I am excited at the prospect of leading Google’s team in Africa and the opportunity to be an even closer part of this diverse and dynamic region, which is so close to my heart.

Google has been working in Africa for more than ten years and has offices in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa.
