Growing Global Criticism Over Israel’s Gaza Offensive

Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has publicly condemned his country’s ongoing military actions in Gaza, saying they are “very close to a war crime.”

Speaking to the BBC, Olmert criticized Prime Minister Netanyahu’s approach, describing it as a senseless war that offers no real path to saving hostages or securing lasting peace.

He emphasized the disturbing reality of the campaign, which has resulted in heavy Palestinian casualties, calling it both “obnoxious and outrageous.” Olmert insisted that Israel must be clearer in distinguishing between targeting Hamas fighters and harming innocent civilians.

Meanwhile, aid organization Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) slammed Israel’s recent allowance of minimal aid into Gaza, calling it a “smokescreen” to mask the continued siege.

Despite claims that trucks carrying humanitarian supplies are entering the region, the UN confirmed that aid has yet to reach people on the ground due to logistical and military blockades.

As the humanitarian crisis deepens, international frustration is mounting.

The EU has begun reviewing its trade relationship with Israel, and the UK has suspended negotiations and issued sanctions in response to what it calls “utterly intolerable” conditions in Gaza.

Al Jazeera reports dozens of Palestinians killed in just one morning of airstrikes, while harrowing images continue to emerge showing destruction, displacement, and the toll on civilians—including children.

Israeli leadership maintains that its actions are in self-defense and within the bounds of international law.

But with over 53,000 Palestinians killed since last October, global outrage is only growing louder.
