Huawei, a leading global provider of digital power products, unveiled its latest innovation, Residential LUNA 2.0, in the Eastern Africa market on Tuesday.
This new Smart PV Solution is an upgrade from the previously launched LUNA 1.0, already in use across numerous homes and Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprises (SMME) offices in the region.
Speaking at the product launch, Oliver, CEO of Huawei Digital Power Eastern Africa Region, highlighted the industry’s shift from natural resources to technological innovation, emphasizing the significant growth in the solar sector.
Huawei, with 25 years of operation in East Africa, expressed a commitment to providing clean energy to every individual and organization in the region.

Olivier emphasized the pivotal role of quality in the industry’s rapid development, emphasizing product quality, delivery quality, and service quality.
He stressed that Huawei achieves high product quality through meticulous design and component selection, focusing on building quality into processes.
Nick Lusson, Vice President of Huawei Digital Power Sub-Saharan Africa Region, presented the unique features of LUNA 2.0, describing it as a blend of aesthetic innovation, high intelligence, active safety, and exceptional reliability.
Lusson categorized the solution based on energy needs, offering options with battery capacities of 5 kWh, 10 kWh, and 15 kWh, expandable up to 30 kWh.
LUNA 2.0 is positioned as a comprehensive solution, providing stable and reliable power to homes, offices, and apartments.
It supports seamless on-grid and off-grid switchover through SmartGuard, preventing power interruptions during outages.
The system boasts an elegant design, omitting fuses, LCDs, and buttons for a sleek appearance compared to other brands.
Lusson highlighted the intelligent monitoring and management system, ensuring minimal downtime and enhanced return on investment.
The solution also features SmartDesign 2.0, an online tool facilitating the creation of PV systems with 3D modeling for a superior installation experience.
Alongside LUNA, Huawei introduced another residential solution, iSitePower-M, an all-in-one modular Smart String Energy Storage system with versatile applications.
Power-M, a hybrid power solution, integrates grid, solar, Diesel Generator (DG), and battery, offering reliable backup power in off-grid and unreliable grid areas.
Huawei Digital Power released its residential partner policy during the event, focusing on mutually beneficial outcomes with partners in an integrated ecosystem.
The policy is capability-driven, revolving around ‘PSEE’: Profitability, Simplicity, Enablement, and Ecosystem, aiming to secure partner profitability, simplify cooperation, enhance partner capabilities, and invest in ecosystem development.
The successful event attracted over 80 attendees, including PV installers and Huawei industry partners.
