
A man is on the run after he stabbed and killed his girlfriend at a birthday party event in Kanyakine, Imenti South, Meru County.
Winfred Olpha Makori was stabbed and killed by her visiting boyfriend after he allegedly found her in the company of other men on Sunday morning.
Winfred was a student at the Kenya Medical Training College in Meru.
Police said the students from the college had met at a rental house for a party when the incident happened.
Three other students were seriously injured after being stabbed in the same event.
“The boyfriend visited without informing her and when he found her in the company of another man, a fight broke out,” police said.
Winfred was stabbed three times – in the neck, chest, and stomach – and she died instantly.
The killer identified as only Johnteh fled the scene and is being sought by police.
The matter was reported to the college security whose personnel visited the scene before calling the police.
One of the students identified as Brian Muraya Ngige was hosting the party when the incident happened.
The injured were rushed to Kanyikine Sub County Hospital where they were admitted in serious condition.
Police say they are investigating a case of a love triangle and that the suspect and his host student are yet to be traced.
Elsewhere in Lyenga village, Kenyenya, Kisii County a man is on the run after killing his wife in a domestic fight.
The body of Bochere Kemunto Nyabuto aged 30 was found lying in a pool of blood on her bed with a deep cut wound on the right side of her face.
It was established that after the heinous act, the suspect passed by his sister’s house and informed her of his act before disappearing.
The body was sent to Nyamache Sub County Hospital morgue pending autopsy.
