The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has warned Kenyans against fraudulent recruitment offers and individuals demanding money in exchange for employment opportunities at the agency.
In a notice issued on Friday, September 18, the authority clarified that applicants are not required to pay any fees at any stage of its recruitment process.
KRA raised the alarm over a fraudulent employment letter demanding Ksh4,500 from applicants seeking jobs at the authority.
The tax agency stated that all vacancies are advertised through its official communication channels, selected media outlets and authorised recruitment consultants.
It urged job seekers to verify employment opportunities through its official careers website before proceeding with any application.
“KRA does not charge any fee at any stage of the recruitment process,” the authority stated.

The warning comes a week after the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) cautioned Kenyans against fraudulent job advertisements and recruitment scams targeting people seeking employment with the organisation.
In a notice issued on Friday, September 11, UNICEF warned that fraudsters could use fake job advertisements and employment offers to trick unsuspecting applicants into paying money or disclosing personal information.
The organisation emphasised that its recruitment process is free of charge and advised applicants to verify vacancies and job offers through its official recruitment website, jobs.unicef.org.
UNICEF also cautioned job seekers against making payments or sharing sensitive personal details in response to suspicious employment offers, warning that such information could be misused by fraudsters.
