Labour Court strikes out cases challenging President Ruto’s PS nominees, cites premature filing

Parliament will proceed with the vetting of 51 Principal Secretary nominees after employment and labour court Tuesday stuck out the consolidated cases challenging their nomination.
Justice Nduma Nderi ruled that the cases were filed prematurely.
“Consolidated petitions are struck out for having been filed prematurely,” ruled the judge
Nderi further noted that the court can only be approached once the National Assembly concludes the vetting process.
The process of vetting had been stopped two weeks ago over various claims.
This is a reprieve to the nominees and affected departments. Operations had stalled in some departments due to lack of substantive PS’.
