Police are looking for a gang that shot and killed a Mpesa operator in a robbery in Khayega, Shinyalu constituency, Kakamega County.
The victim was shot dead on Monday night after a gang of three robbers raided his M-Pesa shop, police said.
The robbers are said to have been dropped from a Boda boda and then raided the shop of the man while demanding the day’s collection.
Police said a confrontation ensued prompting the gang to shoot him in the chest.
The robbers then fled.
hinyalu police boss Robert Makau said a manhunt has been launched for the culprits and urged members of the public with leads to report to security officials.
The area has been experiencing an increase in crime amid calls to address the trend.
