Safaricom’s mobile money platform, M-Pesa went down for many users Tuesday experiencing delays.
The users resorted to social media platforms to raise their concerns and frustrations.
The ubiquitous mobile money platform is relied upon by millions of subscribers in the country.
The service was unavailable on the M-Pesa app, USSD code, and SIM card tool.
The situation jeopardized various transactions since M-Pesa usage is spread across all sectors of the economy.

”M-PESA is undergoing scheduled maintenance,” read a message from Safaricom.
“We are currently having challenges with MPesa services and resolution is underway,” Safaricom’s customer care said in a separate message on X.
Since its launch in 2007, M-PESA has gained massive traction and heavy reliance by individuals and businesses alike.
It has since been successful in the country taking a massive 97 percent share in the mobile money market.
