Police in Kitengela is investigating the death of a 24-year-old man who is suspected to have committed suicide after killing his 23-year-old girlfriend.
Their two bodies were found at Amani Apartments in Kyangombe estate on Wednesday evening after neighbors noticed they had not left the house for two days, which was unusual.
The caretaker Paul Kanaika said no one came out of that apartment and he got curious.
“I checked the door but it was locked from the inside that’s when I alerted the police,” Kanaika said.
Police said the woman’s body was found naked on the bathroom floor with multiple stab wounds while the man’s body was found in the living room with a single stab wound on the chest.
A knife was found beside his body.
Isinya OCPD Ancent Kaloki said investigations had been launched to ascertain the motive of the killings.
He said the bodies were moved to the mortuary pending autopsy as part of the probe into the incident.
Cases of murder-suicide have been on the rise in the past few days amid calls to tame the trend.
