Police in Eldoret are investigating two separate violent death cases that have shocked the community.
In the first incident, a man fatally attacked his mother in the MaIli Nne area on the outskirts of Eldoret. After the assault, the man tried to take his own life by drinking poison.
He was found in critical condition and transported to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, where he is receiving treatment.
The mother’s body has been moved to the hospital’s mortuary as detectives work to piece together the circumstances of the tragedy.
Neighbors have expressed their astonishment, saying there were no apparent conflicts between the mother and son.
Uasin Gishu Police Chief Benjamin Mwanthi confirmed that an investigation is underway to determine the motives behind the murder.
In a second, unrelated incident in Huruma Estate, a woman fatally stabbed her husband during a domestic dispute in their rented home.
Residents reported that the couple was known for frequent arguments, which escalated into violence last night when the woman used a knife to attack her husband, resulting in his death at the scene.
The suspect has been arrested and is currently detained at Eldoret Central Police Station. Police are investigating the circumstances leading up to this violent act.
Chief Mwanthi emphasized that the police are conducting thorough investigations into both incidents to understand the factors that led to these tragic outcomes.
The community remains in shock as authorities work to uncover more details and provide answers.
