A middle-aged herder m was shot and killed by an unknown assailant in Kamuluyuni area, along the border of Zombe and Nuu sub-counties in Kitui County.
According to the police, the man, identified as Abdi Osman, was attacked by an unknown person and sustained an arrow injury that resulted in his death.
One camel was also found killed by an arrow in the same area.
Police officers visited the scene, where they processed and documented the incident.
The deceased’s body was moved to Nuu Sub-County Hospital mortuary, pending a postmortem examination.
Investigations are underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the killing and identify the suspect.
The incident is part of ongoing tensions between locals and some herders over resources. Locals have opposed the grazing in the area.
