
A 25-year-old man was admitted to hospital with deep cuts after he was attacked by an assailant in the Bulla Border Point area, Mandera County.
Hassan Ibrahim Adan told police he was attacked and slashed by a man known to him after he denied him drinking water on October 12.
He said someone known to him physically entered his compound and requested some drinking water.
When he was informed that there was no water, the suspect drew a panga and cut Adan on the upper right hand and lower abdomen.
He then escaped to the Kenya -Somalia border.
The victim was rushed to Mandera Referral Hospital where he was admitted in a serious condition.
No arrest was made.
Police said they were investigating the attack and had asked security officials in neighboring Somalia to help get the suspect.
