Man Stabbed In His House By Unknown Assailants In Githunguri, Kiambu County


Police are investigating an incident where a 38-year-old man was found dead in his house in Kamwanya, Githunguri, Kiambu County.

The deceased identified as John Mburu was found lying motionless and in a pool of blood with stabs in the stomach and rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead on February 15, 2026.

The motive of the incident was not known.

Police said they visited the scene and recovered a blood-stained kitchen knife, scissors and clothes indicating that the deceased was attacked inside his house at an unknown time by an unknown person.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy. No arrest had been made by Monday and police said they were pursuing good leads over the same.

In Khumusalaba, Kakamega County, a night guard was found dead on a plastic chair at his place of work.

Police identified him as Malaka Mulindi, 46 He had an injury on the head and blood was oozing from his nose when the body was discovered, police said.

The motive of the murder was not immediately known as there was nothing that was stolen from the timber yard he was guarding then, police said as they moved the body to the mortuary for other procedures.

Elsewhere in Kericho Town, a mechanic was killed and robbed of his motorcycle and mobile phone.

The body of Richard Ouma was found in the Makaburi Sewage area with injuries in the head after the attack.

Police said the man was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The assailants had escaped with his motorcycle and mobile phone after the attack, police said as they moved the body to the mortuary for autopsy.

The hunt on the assailants continued on Monday amid concerns on the rise in such attacks.

Police advise such victims to always cooperate with their attackers for their safety.
