Police are investigating an incident in which a 28 year old man was stabbed to death in a quarrel over Sh50 in Mathare slums, Nairobi.
The deceased identified as Kelvin Mwangi was found writhing in pain in a trench on Wednesday night with a stab wound in the neck.
His assailant is known in the area as only Taper, police and residents said.
Witnesses said the two had quarreled over the cash when Taper reached out a knife and stabbed Mwangi once killing him.
The assailant escaped the scene as the deceased was rushed to MSF hospital where he died while being attended to.
Elsewhere in Nyahururu, Laikipia County, a man was sodomised and killed in a bizarre incident.
The half naked body of the man was found at an abandoned bushy piece of land in the town with his head covered with a sack.
Police said they visited the scene and found the body with a deep cut in the forehead.
The officers also realized the victim had been sodomised before being killed.
The motive of the incident is yet to be known.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending identification and autopsy, police said.
