A family in Eastleigh, Nairobi, is grieving after the tragic discovery of three of their loved ones a mother and her two daughters who went missing on Monday.
The bodies were found in separate locations: in Bahati, Parklands, and Machakos, all exhibiting similar injuries.
The two daughters, aged 11 and 22, had left home around 5:30 PM that day to search for their mother, Amina Abdirashid Dahir.
Amina had gone out earlier for a skin treatment in Eastleigh but failed to return or communicate with her family.
In shock and disbelief, the family arrived at the city mortuary, where they confirmed their worst fears upon finding the sisters’ bodies.
“Our aunt, Warifu, went for a skin treatment.
When 5 PM came and she hadn’t returned, the girls decided to look for her,” recounted Sumeya Noor, a cousin of the sisters.
Surveillance footage captured the last moments of Amina and Nusuiba, showing them making a phone call before a car arrived to pick them up.
It was the last time they were seen alive.
The following morning, the family received the devastating news that their daughters had been discovered in Park Road and Bahati, bringing their frantic search to a heartbreaking conclusion.
In a further twist, their mother’s body was found in a bush in Machakos, suggesting a single perpetrator may be responsible for the three murders.
The family is demanding urgent investigations into the killings.
In a separate case, the family of 24-year-old Christine Nyakio, who vanished from her Ngong home last Friday, is also mourning.
Her body was discovered on Monday, dumped in a swamp in Kajiado County.
“On Thursday, children in our apartment noticed a man trying to force her out, and that was the last time she was seen,” said her sister, Anne Wanjiru.
“I pray for justice; she didn’t deserve this. She was the brightest sister, and she will always be in my heart.”
