Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has approved a budget of Sh43.6 billion for the 2024/2025 Financial Year, focusing on financial stability and helping the community.
The county government has decided not to raise fees next year.
Instead, they aim to make more money by making sure businesses follow the rules better.
Finance County Executive Charles Kerich has a plan to make services easier to reach by starting boroughs.
They will spend Sh287 million to finish borough, sub-county, and ward offices.
This should make government work better.
In healthcare, Sh200 million will go to things that are not medicine, and Sh1 billion will be spent on building new health centers.
They want to make healthcare easier to get.
They will also spend Sh1.95 billion on local roads and buildings in the neighborhoods.
They are starting a feeding program in public schools with Sh800 million.
This will help about 310,000 kids get better food while they study.
Also, Sh838 million will be used to build and fix markets and make the city more beautiful and clean.
Governor Sakaja has set aside Sh120 million to build new fire stations in Kangemi, Jamhuri, and Gikomba.
This will make sure the city can respond better to fires and keep people safe.
The county thinks it will get Sh20.6 billion from businesses and people in Nairobi, and Sh22.5 billion from other places.
They will also get Sh22.6 billion from the national government.
