There was panic at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Sunday, December 4 evening when a bus caught fire while on the runway.
The bus is usually used to ferry passengers from the arrivals to the checkpoints.
Police and airport officials rushed to the scene and managed to contain the fire as passengers on board were evacuated.
The bus was first grounded out of mechanical problems as it ferried passengers to terminal one before it caught fire.
Police said no injury was reported and that the fire was contained in time.
The incident briefly disrupted operations at the airport before they resumed.
The bus was later towed from the scene where the fire broke out.
Officials said they are investigating the incident.
