Within Nairobi’s Central Business District, anti-riot police have strategically positioned themselves at critical intersections using trucks and patrol vehicles.
The area is experiencing reduced business activity, with many shops shuttered and traffic flow significantly diminished.
These actions come amidst plans by youth groups to stage protests despite President William Ruto’s recent decision to refer the controversial Finance Bill back to Parliament for review.
Last night, a gathering of over 100,000 participants convened at X-spaces, primarily focusing on discussions concerning the nation’s economic state and governance.
Security measures have also been intensified in other major urban centers such as Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, Migori, and Nyeri.
Tuesday’s demonstrations aimed at Parliament in Nairobi turned violent, resulting in the deaths of more than 20 individuals.
