A police officer stationed at a police post in Narok is in custody over claims of defilement of a juvenile from the same security camp.
The officer is suspected of defiling a 16-year-old girl who was detained at the post awaiting to be arraigned in court.
According to police, the victim was a child in need of care and protection.
The girl had been brought to the security post together with a boy aged 17 years from Enesamplai Police Post.
Officials said the suspect removed the victim from the police cells at 8 pm Friday and took her to his house within the station where he defiled her overnight.
The officer returned the victim to the police cells on Saturday at about 6 am.
Police authorities picked both the suspect and victim for tests in a local hospital.
The victim was attended to at Narok Referral Hospital while the suspect remained at the police cells at Narok Police Station.
Police said the suspect will be charged with defilement on Monday at Narok Law Courts.
