A suspected robber was Friday morning shot dead in a botched robbery incident in the Pangani area, Nairobi.
Police said his two accomplices managed to escape from the scene in the 2 am incident.
The suspects had been attacking and robbing pedestrians in the Jubilee Flyover area when an alarm was raised.
Police on patrol rushed to the scene and managed to shoot one while the other two escaped into the darkness.
Police said they recovered a sword from the slain suspect. The body was moved to the mortuary.
Police say they have intensified operations to address cases of violent robberies in parts of the city.
This has seen a number of bodaboda riders, some of whom are linked to the cases arrested.
