President Biden To Deliver Potentially Final Oval Office Speech On Wednesday

President Joe Biden is set to deliver what might be his final Oval Office speech on Wednesday.

He will explain why he is dropping out of the November election and reject the idea that he will be ineffective for the next six months.

With everyone watching the potential showdown between Vice President Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, Biden will use his televised speech at 8:00 pm (0000 GMT Thursday) to show he is still dedicated to his duties as president, even though he is not running for re-election.

The 81-year-old Democrat, who announced his withdrawal while recovering from Covid at his Delaware home, will outline his plans for the future and how he will complete his work for the American people.

The speech, expected to last eight to ten minutes, will be Biden’s first public statement since leaving the race, following pressure after a tough debate with Trump.

It follows his last Oval Office address on July 13, after an attempted assassination against Trump, and could be his final address as president.

With Harris likely securing the Democratic nomination and Trump ramping up his campaign, Biden faces a challenge to show he is still relevant.

Republicans argue that if he is not fit to run for re-election, he is not fit to be president.

Despite these challenges, Biden believes he still has much to offer, focusing on the economy and efforts for a ceasefire in Israel’s conflict with Hamas.

He confirmed his commitment during a campaign meeting in Delaware, saying he will work hard as both president and in support of the Democratic campaign.

Biden also plans to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and remains hopeful about progress towards a ceasefire.

His decision to withdraw has energized the Democratic Party, bringing new enthusiasm that had diminished due to concerns about his age.

Meanwhile, Vice President Harris has started campaigning actively, encouraged by her delegate count confirmation, aiming to keep the momentum going into the November elections.

Her main challenge is to maintain this support and turn it into election success.

This changing political scene sets the stage for an important election, with Harris leading the Democratic campaign against a strong Republican opponent in the coming months.
