The Public Service Commission (PSC) has issued a warning about an individual fraudulently posing as an official and offering false placements in the Public Service Internship Program (PSIP).
In a statement released on Wednesday, the PSC condemned the actions of one Joseph Tabut, who is reportedly using the phone number 0725 918218 to contact and deceive potential applicants.
“It has come to our attention that an individual named Joseph Tabut (0725 918218) is claiming to offer placements within the Public Service Internship Program,” the PSC stated.
“We want to clarify that there is no employee by that name associated with the Public Service Commission.
Mr. Tabut is likely a fraudster, and we advise the public to ignore him.”
The PSC emphasized that it does not tolerate bribery, favoritism, or any illicit practices when offering internships or job opportunities.
“We do not accept bribes or offer preferential treatment in any services, internships, or job placements,” the PSC added.
The Commission urged applicants to remain cautious and report any suspicious behavior, particularly from individuals asking for payments or other forms of compensation in exchange for PSIP placements.
“We encourage all Kenyans to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) or verify any PSIP-related information through the PSC Call Centre at +254 20 4865000 or via our social media platforms,” the statement concluded.
