Safaricom has confirmed that its M-Pesa PayBill service is currently facing issues.
In a notice released on Tuesday morning, the mobile network provider admitted to a recurring service problem that has impacted certain PayBill payments.
According to Safaricom, “We are experiencing a recurring service intermittency affecting some PayBill payments.
The issue is under resolution by our technical team, and we shall inform you once normal services resume.”

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience,” the company added.
Starting on Monday, some M-Pesa users reported difficulties in making payments to Kenya Power, the national electricity provider, and encountered obstacles in conducting bank-to-mobile transactions.
Later in the evening, Safaricom announced that the technical issue had been addressed.
In a notice issued at 7:30 PM on Monday, the telecom company stated, “We experienced service intermittency with PayBill payments that resulted in some transactions not being completed on M-PESA.
The technical issue has since been resolved, and we continue to monitor the services closely.”
