A raid on the house of a suspect in the murder of a university student led to the recovery of belongings of the victim in Kikuyu, Kiambu County.
Jane Atila Quedeya was a student at the University of Nairobi Student- Kikuyu Campus and had been reported missing on October 13, 2025.
Her body was found dumped in Kefri Forest on October 17, 2025, police said.
This prompted a probe that led to the arrest of a key suspect who was his former boyfriend.
A combined team from CRIB Kiambu County headquarters, CRIB DCI Headquarters and team of DCI officers from Kikuyu conducted an Intelligence led operation which eventually led the team into KeFri Forest in Muguga in Kikuyu Sub-County to a crime scene where a decomposed body of the woman.
The team through an interview of prime suspect Nicholas Mutia Mutia opened up and admitted to have lured the victim into the forest after they had an argument with her the previous night before he finally murdered her.
Further to this, the suspect led the officers to the crime scene where the victim was found.
They later recovered from his house and scene a black shoe lace, a pair of rubber shoes, white handkerchief, black and white panty, black and grey back pack with a black hood, yellow manila ripe, an elastic band, pink bedsheet and assorted items belonging to the woman.
