Former presidential aspirant and Roots Party leader George Wajackoyah has said that he will be on the ballot during the 2027 Presidential election.
Wajackoyah said that he was solidifying his political support in Western Kenya before moving to other partys of the country.
The Roots Party leader who is also one of the Azimio party leader said this when he attended the burial of Boniface Ojiambo Mbunda at Buranga village, Butula subcounty of Busia County.
Prof. Wajackoyah said that he had began an initiative of meeting all the five Governors in Western part of Kenya and convincing them to bring the people of western commonly known as Mulembe nation together.
So far he said he has met Governors Fernandes Barasa (Kakamega), Wilbur Ottichillo (Vihiga), Ken Lusaka (Bungoma), Paul Otuoma (Busia) and George Natembeya (TransNzoia).
He also said that he has moved to other regions in Nyanza where he has held talks with Governors James Orengo of Siaya county and Prof Anyang Nyong’o of Kisumu county.
At the same time Wajackoyah said that he supported the GenZ’s protests that led to withdrawal of finance bill 2024.
He said that he also spread the message of anti finance bill upto abroad where at one time during the beginning of the protests he led a protest in Dallas, USA.
He at the time criticized the bill for its potential to negatively impact on the economic well-being of ordinary Kenyans.
Wajackoyah who is known for his vocal stance on national issues, expressed solidarity with Kenyans at home and abroad, urging the diaspora community to voice their concerns and support the Generation Z protests.
“We want to chase away fraudsters together with our young Generation Z,” he stated.
