Police in Vihiga launched investigations into the death of a 42-year-old woman whose body was found in a banana plantation in Luanda Sub-County.
The deceased, identified as Dorcus Anditi Sefule, a Bunyore woman, was discovered lying in a farm at Eluama Village, Ebukhubi Sub-location, Ebulonga Location, on Monday.
The discovery was reported by locals, prompting officers from Luanda Police Station and DCI detectives to visit the scene.
Police found Sefule’s body lying on her back in the banana plantation. Preliminary examination showed that she had sustained multiple injuries and bruises.
The scene was processed and documented by investigators before the body was moved to Coptic Mortuary for preservation.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted to establish the exact cause of death as detectives investigate the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
And police in Vihiga are investigating the death of a 43-year-old man whose body was found near a swamp in Mwinaya area, Luanda Sub-County.
The deceased, identified as Martin Amukoa, was discovered on Monday morning in Mwinaya Village, Itumbu Sub-location.
The discovery was reported at about 9:59am by Charles Amuli, a village elder.
Police officers visited the scene and found Amukoa’s body lying face down near the swamp.
Police said blood was oozing from the deceased’s nose and mouth. Preliminary examination further indicated that he had injuries to the forehead.
The scene was processed and documented by investigators before the body was moved to Coptic Mortuary for preservation.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted to establish the exact cause of death as detectives investigate the circumstances surrounding Amukoa’s death.
