A joyful Sunday morning swim turned into a heartbreaking tragedy when a 13-year-old boy drowned in the Chepkulo River in Bomet.
The incident was confirmed by Chepalungu sub-county police chief Phanton Analo, who identified the deceased as Bethwel Kiprono, a Grade Seven pupil at Kamundugi Primary School.
Bethwel Kiprono had ventured to the river with a group of friends for a recreational swim. According to Analo, the boys were enjoying their morning when disaster struck.
