The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has announced the advancement in the selection process for the position of Judge of the High Court of Kenya, having shortlisted one hundred candidates from a pool of applicants.
According to Chief Justice Martha Koome, the JSC initiated the application process for twenty judicial vacancies on October 13, 2023.
Koome noted that by the deadline of November 3, 2023, a substantial number of three hundred and five applications were received.
“After careful review of the applications to ensure compliance with the stipulated requirements, one hundred candidates have been shortlisted,” stated Chief Justice Koome.
The next phase involves interviews for the shortlisted candidates, scheduled to take place from April 3, 2024, to April 30, 2024.
These interviews will be conducted at the CBK Pension Towers, located along Harambee Avenue, with sessions running from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm daily. The interviews scheduled for April 29th and 30th will conclude at 2:00 pm.
The public is encouraged to contribute any relevant information regarding the shortlisted candidates by submitting written comments before March 21, 2024, at 5:00 pm, as stated in the official announcement: “Members of the public are invited to avail in writing any information of interest in respect to any of the shortlisted candidates on or before 21st March 2024 at 5:00 pm.”
