A suspect who tried to access a home in a village in Vihiga County was found dead after being electrocuted.
The man had tried to switch off power from the main switch to enable him to accomplish his mission when he was electrocuted on March 6, police said.
Police were called to Ebusikhale village within the Mumboha Esta sub-location and informed there was a dead body lying next to a meter box.
It was established that during the night the deceased broke into a homestead, uprooted arrowroot, and proceeded, to steal chicken at the poultry.
In the process, as he was trying to disconnect the electricity at the meter box, he was electrocuted and died on the spot.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.

It was established that the deceased was subjected to mob injustice by unknown persons after he was found stealing manhole covers.
One manhole cover was recovered next to the body and kept as an exhibit before the body was moved to the mortuary.
