51-Year-Old Man Found Dead In His House In Tetu, Nyeri County


A 51-year-old man was found dead in his house in Ihururu, Tetu, Nyeri County.

The cause of the death of the victim Andrew Kamau was not immediately established, police said.

The body was Sunday May 10 covered with a blanket. His main door was found locked from inside at the time of the discovery of the body, police said as they moved it to the mortuary for autopsy.

In the nearby Kiawara area, police said they are investigating the murder of a woman identified as Zabida Wanjiku.

Her death sparked a protest in the area with some barricading the Nyeri-Nyahururu highway.

Police dispersed the group after the brief drama on Sunday.

Elsewhere, police in Kwanza, Trans Nzoia County are investigating the discovery of a human skeleton in a swampy area.

The discovery was made in Namandala ADC farm with clothes near there which resembled those of a missing child, police said.

The parents of the child said the clothes were hers. The skeletons were moved to the mortuary pending other procedures.

Police believe the 17-year-old girl was killed and her body dumped in the area but they are yet to establish the motive of the same.

An investigation into the now murder is ongoing, police said on Monday.

And a 19-year-old girl died in an electrocution incident in Kiptagich, Kuresoi, Nakuru County.

She was identified as Faith Chelangat. Her body was found lying outside a posho mill long after the Sunday afternoon incident.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

Meanwhile, a man aged 88 died in a drowning incident in Buret, Kericho County. The body of the man was found trapped in a swampy area and was identified as Kipkemboi Chepkwony.

He is said to have slipped into the water and drowned as he walked home. The body had an injury in the mouth and was moved to the mortuary for other procedures.
