Pretoria, the capital city of South Africa has been ranked the most unsafe city to walk alone.
A recent survey done by NOMBEO, a global crowd-sourced database of perceived crime rates reveals that the safety of walking alone in Pretoria during the day stands at a trivial 33 percent.
The data which was updated in April 2023 further reveals that the safety of walking alone in Pretoria during the night stands at 10 percent.
The survey which was compiled in the recent three years further stated that the crime in the city currently stands at 88 percent while corruption and bribery remain the biggest challenge at 91 percent.

According to the survey, worries of being mugged or robbed in South Africa’s capital city stand at a whopping 84 percent while chances of losing a car in the city stand at 80 percent.
Further, losing personal items in a car in Pretoria stand at 82 percent, and being attacked and insulted stands at 78 percent and 67 percent respectively.
Worries of being subjected to physical attacks due to skin color, ethnic origin, gender, or religion in Pretoria stands at 74 percent while the problem of property crimes such as vandalism and theft stands at 82 percent.
